Conor McGregor, the MMA celebrity, has made a surprising declaration about his intention to run for President of Ireland.
The 36-year-old fighter shared this news on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of himself wearing a cap that reads “Make Ireland Great Again,” reminiscent of the MAGA slogan.

This announcement follows his recent statement that “Ireland is on the verge of losing its Irish identity” due to “illegal immigration.”
It also comes just three days after Donald Trump called McGregor his “favorite Irishman” during a visit to the Oval Office.
McGregor`s presidential campaign launch was marked by a photo of him in a vest, standing in front of a private jet and holding one of his children.
The controversial fighter has consistently stated his intention to run for Irish president this year, claiming he wants to “save” Ireland.
On Thursday, McGregor confirmed his political aspirations while criticizing the EU Migration Pact.
This pact aims to simplify migration and asylum procedures across the European Union.
McGregor mentioned in his post that Ireland has until June 12, 2026, to implement this pact, but he would oppose it if elected President.
The mixed martial artist stated, “The next presidential election must be held by November 11, 2025.”
“Who else will stand up to the Government and oppose this bill?” he questioned.
“Any other presidential candidate they try to put forward will not resist them. But I will!”
McGregor also suggested a “democratic” approach, proposing a public referendum on the pact.
He explained, “Although I strongly oppose this pact, it`s not up to me or the government to decide.”
“It`s the choice of the Irish people! Always!”
“That`s real democracy!”
He further added, “I`m also curious to hear the reasons from our government officials for so enthusiastically agreeing to this pact.”
“I`d love to hear the debates! Followed by a vote!”
“This is what the future of Ireland looks like with me as President.”
“Every citizen of Ireland will have a voice and a choice in their future!”
The controversial figure concluded, “Vote McGregor and make your voice heard!”

In a press conference before meeting Trump, McGregor delivered a shocking rant about immigration in Ireland.
He criticized his government, stating it demonstrates “zero action with zero accountability.”
Speaking further at the White House, McGregor found Trump`s work ethic “inspiring” and referred to the US as Ireland`s “big sibling.”
He added, “We hope our relationship with the United States continues, and we hope to be looked after by the big brother.”
“The United States should take care of its little brother. That`s how we feel.”
FIGHTER FACING CONTROVERSY
McGregor`s presidential announcement comes shortly after a civil jury ruled against him in a case where he was accused of assaulting a woman in a Dublin hotel room in December 2018.
Nikita Hand accused McGregor of “brutally raping and battering” her after a Christmas night out.
McGregor maintains his innocence and has stated he will appeal the civil court`s verdict, insisting that his encounter with Hand was consensual.
Hand had sued both McGregor and another man, James Lawrence, claiming both were involved in the assault at the hotel penthouse.
The jury found McGregor guilty of assault against Ms. Hand, but she lost her case against Lawrence.
