European women take silver and bronze in Geneva

European teams had a successful run in the women`s competition at this week`s Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures event in Geneva, securing two podium spots: silver and bronze.

The competition took place from Thursday to Sunday by the lake at the La Rotonde du Mont-Blanc venue and featured teams from 14 countries. It was duos from Lithuania and France who brought medals back to Europe.

Lithuanians Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite reached the final but were defeated by Americans Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig with a score of 2-1 (21-16, 24-26, 15-5). The American pair, who started the tournament in the qualifier, ultimately claimed the gold.

Beach Pro Tour Geneva Futures Results – Women

In the bronze medal match, French duo Elsa Descamps and Romane Sobezalz defeated Canadians Kaylee and Emma Glagau in straight sets (21-12, 21-16), securing the bronze medals.

Next week, the Beach Pro Tour Futures series will continue in the French city of Montpellier, with the tournament running from Thursday to Sunday.

Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe are organized by CEV in close cooperation with Volleyball World, providing European teams with opportunities to compete and earn significant international ranking points.
