Joe Rogan to Miss UFC 315 in Canada, Would Rather Visit Russia

Joe Rogan has announced his decision to not participate in the upcoming UFC event in Canada this summer.

Rogan, the 57-year-old commentator, stated he will not be involved in UFC 315, scheduled for May 10 in Montreal, Quebec.

On his podcast, Rogan mentioned he would “rather go to Russia” than travel to Canada for the event.

A prominent voice in UFC commentary, Rogan has reduced his attendance at international events primarily due to extensive travel commitments.

He was also absent from UFC 297 in Toronto, Ontario, this past January.

Despite being born relatively close to the Canadian border in Newark, New Jersey, Rogan stated on his podcast regarding UFC 315: “I won’t be there. I don’t go to Canada anymore, I don’t. I’d rather go to Russia.”

Rogan has previously voiced his support for former US President Donald Trump.

Notably, Trump has publicly suggested making Canada the 51st US state and has imposed trade tariffs on the country.

Referring to a conversation with Trump, Rogan recounted, “He goes ‘I started calling him Governor Trudeau just for fun, but a lot of people are saying good idea'. Maybe it is a good idea!”

In a March 14th episode of his show, Rogan expressed his desire for improved relations between the two nations, stating, “I just want America and Canada to get along. This is so ridiculous. We have to become friends with Canada again.”

UFC 315 is set to feature two title fights at the Bell Centre. Belal Muhammad will defend his welterweight title against Jack Della Maddalena, and Valentina Shevchenko will compete against Manon Fiorot for the women`s flyweight title as the co-main event.

UFC president Dana White is known to be a friend of President Trump. White spoke at a rally celebrating Trump`s presidential election victory over Kamala Harris last November.
