NHL Playoffs: Top Goal Scorer Predictions for Today’s Games

The 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs continue with four games today, featuring two series continuing and two beginning. The Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche, who both won their first games, aim to extend their leads against the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars, respectively. In the East, the Washington Capitals host the Montreal Canadiens for the first game of their series, while the Edmonton Oilers visit the Los Angeles Kings to start their playoff journey.

In Game 1, Winnipeg came back in the third period to defeat St. Louis 5-3, with Kyle Connor scoring the winning goal late in the game. Colorado dominated Dallas in their opener, winning 5-1, with Nathan MacKinnon scoring twice and assisting on another goal. The Avalanche are looking to avenge their previous playoff loss to the Stars.

Alex Ovechkin, after a remarkable regular season where he scored 44 goals at age 39, is set to lead Washington in their quest for their first playoff series win since 2018. Ovechkin, a former Conn Smythe Trophy winner, has 72 career playoff goals and aims to make a significant impact.

Edmonton, despite some injuries late in the regular season, welcomes back key players like Leon Draisaitl. Draisaitl, who scored 52 goals this season, is expected to boost the Oilers` offense as they face the Kings for the fourth consecutive postseason. Edmonton has won the previous three playoff series against Los Angeles.

Best Bets

Leon Draisaitl, Oilers (+155, FanDuel)

Before his injury, Draisaitl was in excellent form, scoring 17 goals in 21 games. He has consistently performed well against the Kings in past playoffs and is a key part of Edmonton`s strong power play. Expect him to be a goal-scoring threat in this game.

Nick Suzuki, Canadiens (+230, BetMGM)

Suzuki is a primary offensive player for Montreal, having scored 30 goals for the second straight season. He`s been in good form recently and has a decent record against the Capitals. Look for Suzuki to be involved in Montreal`s scoring opportunities.

Kevin Fiala, Kings (+210, FanDuel)

Fiala had a career-best 35 goals this season, tying for the team lead. He`s entering the playoffs on a hot streak and has a history of scoring against the Oilers. Fiala could be a valuable anytime goal scorer bet.

Mason Marchment, Stars (+400, BetMGM)

Marchment equaled his career high with 22 goals this season. While he didn`t score in the first game, he was active and had a good regular season against the Avalanche. With Jason Robertson injured, Dallas will rely more on players like Marchment for offense.
