NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: Best Prop Bets for Thursday Including Connor McDavid

Thursday features four potential series-ending Game 6 matchups in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Three Western Conference series and one Eastern Conference series could be decided, as three of the eight spots in the second round have already been filled.

In the East, the Toronto Maple Leafs look to advance and secure a second-round clash with the Florida Panthers. Despite initially leading their series 3-0 against the Ottawa Senators, Toronto has dropped two consecutive games to their opponent, being outscored 8-3 in those losses.

Out West, the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights aim to seal their series against the Minnesota Wild. After falling behind 2-1 in the series, Vegas claimed victory in back-to-back overtime thrillers, including Brett Howden`s decisive goal just over four minutes into the extra frame of Game 5 on Tuesday.

The Colorado Avalanche face the Dallas Stars, needing a win at home to force a decisive Game 7. Colorado evened the series with a dominant 4-0 shutout win at home in Game 4 but were routed 6-2 on the road on Monday, where Wyatt Johnston`s two goals and an assist brought Dallas within one win of advancing.

Finally, the Edmonton Oilers host the Los Angeles Kings, seeking their fourth straight victory. After losing the first two games on the road and allowing six goals in each, the Oilers made a goalie change, inserting Calvin Pickard for Stuart Skinner. Pickard has backstopped the team to three consecutive wins, with Edmonton allowing a combined eight goals in those contests.

Following a successful night for previous prop bets, here are some value picks to consider when making prop bets for Thursday`s playoff games.

Best Bets

Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal Scorer (+120)

Kaprizov has been a major contributor to the Wild`s offense, accounting for nearly one-third of their 17 goals scored over the first five games of the series against the Golden Knights. His five goals tie him for the playoff lead with teammates and other top players. He has recorded two multi-goal games in this matchup and found the net in Game 5 on Tuesday.

Anze Kopitar 1+ Assist (+122)

The veteran Kopitar continues to produce despite his age, tied for third in playoff assists with seven, equaling his total from the past two postseasons combined. This is his second-highest single playoff assist total, behind only his 21 during the Kings` 2014 Stanley Cup run. He has recorded at least one assist in four of the five games played against the Oilers in this series.

Connor McDavid Anytime Goal Scorer (+150)

While McDavid is currently tied for the playoff lead in assists with eight, he remains a potent scoring threat. He scored in two of the first three games of the series against Los Angeles and boasts an impressive career playoff goal rate (0.49 goals per game) over 79 contests, ranking 22nd all-time among players with at least 20 playoff goals. Even after two goalless games, betting on the superstar to find the back of the net is always a strong option.

Best Longshot

Matthew Knies Anytime Goal Scorer (+320)

After scoring 29 goals this season, nearly doubling his rookie total, Knies has carried his offensive production into the playoffs. He`s tied for the Maple Leafs` lead with three goals in the series against the Senators. As Toronto looks to bounce back from a shutout loss and prevent a Game 7, Knies offers appealing value as a longshot to find the back of the net for the team.
