Fan-made posters began popping up around New York City in recent months with a simple message: Hillary for mayor. The idea is only slightly absurd, given that Clinton is perpetually using her political career as a fundraising effort for her personal coffers. The corrupt and incorrigible Clinton has not officially made any statement on the subject, but what few words she has spoken regarding her possible mayoral candidacy were tactfully vague, leading many to believe that she is at least considering it.
Ironically, the son of her 2016 presidential opponent is also considering a run for elected office in New York, but on a much grander scale than the lately-reclusive Clinton.
Donald Trump Jr. could be interested in running for governor of New York, according to a Thursday report from Axios.
The president’s son asserted he was very interested in running for governor, although he didn’t specifically say if he planned to run in 2018. New York’s current Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, is expected to run for re-election in 2018, and Ballotpedia ranks the seat as ‘safe democratic’.
’Do I want to be behind the scenes and be a mouthpiece and fight back against crazy liberal media? Maybe,’ Trump told members of a prestigious gun club in Hicksville, N.Y., Wednesday.
’Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me.’
While New York City is regarded as one of the bluest locales in all of the nation, and certainly on the East Coast, the rest of the state identifies as predominately conservative. In recent years, the concept of New York State seceding from New York City has gained some traction, given that the state’s politics are controlled by population, meaning that those living in the rural landmass are being governed by the liberals of The Big Apple.
Trump Jr.’s run for governor would certainly be a thorn in the side of Clinton, who had relocated to Chappaqua, New York after her stint as first lady.
