Trump Bolsters States’ Rights in Fight Against Planned Parenthood
Donald Trump is taking the fight against Planned Parenthood to the state level, as part of the President’s increasing efforts to reign in government spending.
The republican Commander in Chief has been hard at work developing the ethos that he has dubbed “draining the swamp”, by which he plans to eliminate a great deal of the money floating around Washington D.C.
Not only will Trump be targeting politicians known for their unscrupulous behavior in the face of stacks of cash, the President will also be looking to challenge the ease at which lobbyists are able to influence our government. One such tactic in this war against the American elitist political nonsense is to remove the very agencies for which the lobbying occurs.
In his swamp-draining process, Trump has encountered a great deal of resistance from liberal democrats regarding specific packages that are on the chopping block, not the least of which is abortion provider Planned Parenthood. The organization, that just bestowed Hillary Clinton with a fabricated award for her “service”, is a favorite line item of democratic budgets. As such, Trump is taking the fight against Planned Parenthood to the state level.
President Trump on Thursday signed a bill that would allow states to withhold family planning funds from Planned Parenthood and other clinics that provide abortions.
The bill overturns a rule that the previous administration enacted shortly before the end of former President Barack Obama’s term, which prevented states from disqualifying an organization from federal family planning grants, called Title X, if they provide abortions. The rule was aimed at protecting Planned Parenthood from various defunding efforts among Republicans.
The president of Susan B. Anthony List, which opposes abortion, called Obama’s move a ‘parting gift to the abortion industry.’
‘The resolution signed today simply ensures that states are not forced to fund an abortion business with Title X taxpayer dollars,’ said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA List. ‘Rather, states have the option to spend money on comprehensive healthcare clinics that better serve women and girls.'
Democrats will surely pounce on Trump’s signing of the bill as yet another battle in their imaginary “war on women”. In reality, feminist groups should be looking to the horizon, and the rise of the social justice warrior’s battle for trans-everything as the real enemy of women.
