As he was leaving the venue, video footage surfaced online showing a fan appearing to attempt to attack the UFC star.

However, security personnel quickly intervened, preventing the assault and leaving the would-be attacker with a bloodied face.

McGregor, wearing a green silk shirt, observed the scene and simply shrugged as security dealt with the fan.

SunSport has reached out for comments on the incident.

McGregor is a co-owner of BKFC, along with David Feldman.

His last appearance in the UFC octagon was in July 2021, where he suffered a severe leg injury during a fight against Dustin Poirier.

McGregor, 36, was scheduled to return to fighting in June 2024 against Michael Chandler, 38, but withdrew due to a toe injury.

The former UFC champion has been inactive since then, and in November 2023, he was found liable for the sexual assault of Nikita Hand in 2018.

McGregor has appealed this verdict.

The controversial fighter has also made headlines recently by announcing his intentions to run for Irish president in the upcoming elections.

He recently visited US President Donald Trump in March, and shortly after, expressed uncertainty about his future in fighting.

McGregor stated he has two fights remaining on his contract and is in negotiations.

He mentioned a recent visit to the White House that deeply affected him, making him consider his country, Ireland.

McGregor said he is content with his achievements but feels a pull towards something else, hinting at a potential shift in his career path towards Irish politics.

However, moments later, McGregor seemed to backtrack, stating his comeback would be the greatest and most anticipated ever, but emphasized that Ireland was currently his priority.
