Tournament Overview
The Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland is set to be the first stage of the prestigious 2025 Grand Chess Tour. The event features competitions in both rapid and blitz chess formats.
Format and Schedule
The rapid portion of the tournament will be a single round-robin event held from April 26th to 28th. The time control for rapid games is 25 minutes per player for the entire game, with an added 10-second increment after each move.
Following the rapid games, a double round-robin blitz competition will take place on April 29th and 30th. Blitz games will use a time control of 5 minutes per player plus a 2-second increment per move.
Prize Fund and Tour Points
A total prize fund of $175,000 is available for the tournament, with a significant $40,000 allocated for the winner. Crucially, participants will also earn points towards the overall Grand Chess Tour standings.
