Round 1
The annual TePe Sigeman & Co chess tournament, a staple in Malmö since 1993, has commenced. The event was only absent from the calendar in 2020 due to the global pandemic.
This year`s competition follows a single round-robin format. The time control is set at 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by an additional 30 minutes for the remaining moves. A 30-second increment is applied from the very first move. Players are not permitted to agree to a draw before the completion of the 40th move.
Tournament Schedule
- Rounds 1 through 6 will take place from May 20th to May 25th, with games starting daily at 15:00 CEST.
- The final round, Round 7, is scheduled for May 26th and begins three hours earlier than usual, at 12:00 CEST.
