Vita Akimova is a rising star in international volleyball. Her impressive debut in the Champions League, where she scored 43 points in her first match for Volero Le Cannet, immediately drew widespread attention. At just 20 years old, she was named MVP of that game. In the following Champions League match, she reaffirmed her high level of play by adding another 26 points.
Her talent was evident even earlier: at the U20 World Championship, where the Russian national team finished third, Vita was selected for the Dream Team as the best opposite and became the tournament`s top scorer with 157 points.

The Beginning
Vita shares that volleyball entered her life thanks to her mother back in second grade. In fifth grade, after moving to another city, she began playing more seriously.
Going Pro
Standing at 197 cm, Akimova is a key player for her team, and she has played the opposite position since the beginning of her career, never changing it. Choosing a professional sports career was a natural, instinctive decision for her.
Volero Le Cannet
The 2022/2023 season marks Vita`s first overseas experience with the French club Volero Le Cannet. Previously, she played for teams like Dinamo-Ak Bars and Sparta. Currently, she feels great in France and is successfully adapting to her new team.
