Tom Aspinall has strongly suggested that the highly anticipated fight with Jon Jones is very close to being officially announced.
Discussions about a significant unification fight between the interim and undisputed heavyweight champions began in late 2024.

The scheduling of this massive fight, which the UFC initially aimed for summer, had recently seemed to stall.
This was despite reports that Jones had come to financial terms with the UFC after initially asking for a very large sum to unify the titles.
However, Aspinall`s recent actions suggest that the fight is now proceeding after his meeting with UFC leadership.
The fighter from Wigan created excitement in the MMA community by posting a photo on his Instagram this Saturday featuring himself, his father Andy, and UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell.
His caption, including looking eyes and handshake emojis, simply said: “Stay tuned.”
Fans worldwide quickly responded with comments such as: “Here we go!!”
Another fan said: “Let`s go, Tom!”
And another commented: “Jonny boy can`t escape anymore.”

One person remarked: “Hello Jon.”
Another added: “And new!!!!”
Aspinall`s strong hint that this fight, potentially the biggest in UK MMA history, is about to be announced comes just hours after Dana White stated the fight is “done.”
Speaking to TNT Sports, White said: “It’s going to happen. It’s done, but it’s not fully finalized yet.”
“It`s not ready to be announced with a date just yet.”
“But the fight will happen. It`s just a matter of finalizing the agreement.”
“If we can finalize this fight, announce it, and build up to it, it will be the biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history.”
Hall of Famer Jones has not fought since defending his undisputed title with a TKO victory over former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November.
Meanwhile, Aspinall last fought when he defeated Curtis Blaydes in just 60 seconds in their rematch at UFC 304 in Manchester.
