Women’s World Chess Championship – Game 1 Live!

Game 1

The 2025 FIDE Women`s World Chess Championship is the final stage of the 2023-2025 FIDE Women’s World Championship cycle. This year features a highly anticipated rematch between two leading Chinese grandmasters: the current champion, Ju Wenjun, and the challenger, Tan Zhongyi. The Women`s World Champion title will be awarded to the winner of a 12-game match, with a tie-break if needed.

The championship match is being held from April 3rd to 21st in two cities in China: Shanghai and Chongqing.

In each game, players have 90 minutes for their first 40 moves, followed by an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game. A 30-second increment is added per move from move 1.

The first part of the match in Shanghai is taking place at the Shanghai Chess Academy. The second part in Chongqing will be held at the Fuling District Library.
